Gogglebox star Marcus Luther's real life job, his famous son and life with partner Mica off-screen

Marcus Luther and Mica Ven have become favourites on Channel 4's Gogglebox since they joined the show in 2018. They are known for their sense of humour and opinions on a broad range of hot topics.

It's clear how close and caring they are to one another. Away from the show, the couple have full-time jobs. They both live in South London. Our colleagues at the Liverpool Echo took a look at their life outside of the hit Channel 4 show.

How Marcus met Mica

It appears it was love at first sight for Marcus as he fell head over heels for Mica at church. Devising a plan, Marcus joined a class Mica was taking about the basics of Christianity .Speaking to Heat Magazine, he said his plan nearly backfired.

He said: "She was doing this thing called Alpha course, so I signed up for it, too, but then she tried to set me up with some other girls from the course. She wasn’t interested."

But Marcus continued with his plan and visited her home with a bottle of wine for Bible study. Mica said: "He turned up to mine one night to do Bible study with a bottle of wine.

"We were sitting opposite each other and I’m thinking ‘Footsy? Wine? We’re supposed to be doing Bible study here.' He told me it was fine because Jesus drank wine."

Marcus and Mica's family

Marcus and Mica have been in a long-term relationship for several years. Mica has two daughters from a previous relationship, called Sachelle and Shuggy. They have previously appeared on Gogglebox with Marcus and Mica. Marcus is father to son Shiloh Defreitas also from a previous relationship and the couple share one son, Yash, together.

What does Marcus from Gogglebox do for a living?

Marcus is a businessman, boxing coach and gym owner. He trained his son Shiloh, who is now a professional boxer under the alias 'Sugar Shy'. He founded TM Boxing Gym in 2009 initially to work with 'disadvantaged youths from the local community'.

On his website, Marcus said: "The main focus of the gym was to work with disadvantaged youth from the local community. We then went on to running sessions for the general public in the evenings as interest quickly grew.

"TM Boxing then started offering morning sessions to stay at home mums and people with weight and confidence issues. We now have over 200 keep fit members, 80 youth boxers and numerous schools that educate disadvantaged youth who use our services daily."
