Julie announced Tom is fundraising for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Established in Liverpool in 1990, originally as the Lung Cancer Fund, the charity was renamed in tribute to Roy, presenter of the long-running BBC show Record Breakers.
Roy Castle OBE, who was a singer, dancer, comedian and presenter, died from lung cancer in 1994 having raised over £1million to support the foundation - the UK's only charity solely devoted to supporting those diagnosed with lung cancer.
Sharing a picture of his JustGiving page, Julie revealed Tom is doing a abseil down the Manchester Trafford Centre Barton Tower Abseil, on June 25 2022.
Immediately fans praised Tom for his charitable efforts. One said: "I will 100% support." Another commented: "Thank you for using your name and popular status to help raise money for such an amazing cause."
And a third added: "I already donate Tom as my husband has lung disease but thank you so much for supporting this cause."
