Gogglebox's Tom Malone Jr rules out return to Channel 4 show in telling 'contracts' reply to fan

Tom Malone Jr has ruled out a return to Gogglebox due to no longer being 'contracted' to appear in a telling reply to a fan on Instagram.

Tom was a much loved cast member on the Channel 4 show for a number of series alongside dad Tom, mum Julie and brother Shaun, so it came as a shock to viewers when he walked away from the programme that shot him to TV fame last year.

And now he has said he wouldn't be 'allowed' to appear on Gogglebox when asked by an Instagram follower during a Q&A.

Tom, who is currently starring in E4's The Real Dirty Dancing and has been on Celebrity Coach Trip, was quizzed whether he could take his girlfriend Bryony Briscoe on the show and replied: "I'm not actually on Gogglebox anymore, I haven't been for like a year now.

"So 'cos I'm not contracted, I wouldn't be able to just pop up and I wouldn't be able to just bring Bryony with me as she's not contracted either. So no."

In the same Instagram Q&A, Tom revealed that he'd filmed an episode of Celebrity Mastermind, which will air later this year.

Announcing his departure from Gogglebox in a lengthy social media post last year, Tom wrote: "So after 6 and a half years it’s finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox.

"I’ve loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show. But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them.

"I look forward to enjoying the show as a viewer and not having to worry about having said something stupid. PS. Don’t worry my family @themalonesgb and @shaunmalone95 will still be on the show to keep you guys entertained every Friday

"To the future."
