Gogglebox’s Tom fears Malone family could be axed from show as he addresses co-star's sudden exit

Gogglebox star Tom Malone shocked fans when he quit the show earlier this year but later revealed he had other TV plans in the works.

In a recent interview the star also addressed another Gogglebox star Paige Deville's surprise exit and fears his family might get axed from the show.

Earlier this month, Paige revealed she was quitting due to “long hours of filming, restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions and zero aftercare support".

Tom admitted the filming schedule was “long” but has nothing but good words to say about the team and regularly stays in contact with them.

The star told The Sun: “I think my experience was different. I am not saying Paige is wrong, because obviously she’s had her own experiences.

“For me it was quite pleasant, I had a call from the people who deal with us afterwards saying they were sorry to see me go but wished me the best.

The Malones are firm favourites on Gogglebox (Channel 4)

“They have always offered me any support and said if there is anything I need, there is people on hand to help with that sort of stuff.

“So in all honesty I can't fault them with that. Everything in terms of after-support they did offer that to me.”

When Tom decided to leave Gogglebox he was worried his family mum, Julie, Dad Tom and brother Shaun who where on the show with him would get sacked.

“There was a bit of a conversation about them staying on the show, if that would be possible,” he told The Sun.

“I know in the past people have left to do stuff before and the whole family has been taken off the show. Because my family were able to stay on it, it was a much easier decision.”

Since leaving the show Tom is currently working on different TV projects landing himself a place on the new show The Real Dirty Dancing which he isn’t allowed to talk to much about it yet.

The 26-year-old says this new job is “ideal” being able to mix both TV and Dance. He’s since said he’d love to follow in Ashley Banjo footsteps working on dance talent shows.
