Gogglebox’s Mary Killen has revealed the health issue that resulted in her giving up alcohol for the rest of her life.
The star is well known for her constant bickering with husband Giles in their eccentric Wiltshire cottage on the show.
She made the decision to quit drinking four years ago as she suffered a bout of campylobacter food poisoning and from then she has been turned off alcohol. The food poisoning required antibiotics to bring it under control.

Mary thinks it was "grubby" vegetables from her garden that could have been the catalyst for a five-day bout of food poisoning.
Speaking about it, Mary told the Daily Mail: "Immediately afterward, I found I couldn’t face alcohol. I remember going to a house party on the Isle of Mull a short time later. All sorts of wonderful wines were being served and I couldn't touch any of them.
"It made me recoil," she added, likening the feeling to when she was pregnant. "It has completely lost its appeal. I don't even like the smell of it."
The infection that Mary had is called Campylobacteriosis and it is caused by bacteria from contaminated food and water. Those who suffer from this would commonly have symptoms which include diarrhoea, stomach pains, cramps, fever and vomiting.
Mary and husband Giles are one of the longest-standing members of the Gogglebox family. The couple joined the show in 2015 for the fifth series after being approached to take part by a friend in the production team.
