Googlebox star Jenny Newby was brutally mocked by her best friend Lee Riley after unveiling her new teeth.
The 20th series of the popular TV watching programme began on Friday after Channel 4 made the decision to continue with its scheduling following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
It was touch and go for a while whether the show would air after Her Majesty died at her Balmoral residency in Aberdeenshire at the age of 96.
Buckingham Palace announced the devastating news in a statement released around 6.30pm on Thursday evening.
Following her passing, broadcasters across the UK have adjusted their schedules to allow for documentaries and news coverage about the Queen.
Channel 4 bosses confirmed Gogglebox would go ahead as planned as it brings a "valuable sense of continuity" for viewers up and down the country following the passing of the Queen.
A spokesperson said: "Channel 4 exists to offer viewers an alternative and that is particularly important at times like this. Gogglebox is a much loved national institution and it will air as planned tonight bringing a valuable sense of continuity for many of our viewers."
The series opening episode started with a bang as the two best friends from Hull had viewers in stitches.
After Jenny had work done on her teeth, Lee asked: "What colour did you go for? F*****g electric white?"
She replied: "I feel like I've borrowed somebody else's teeth to eat me tea with," to which Lee retorted: "It f*****g looks as though you have. Well if there's a power cut and it goes dark just smile."
Lee's opinion of her new teeth appeared to be similar to Jenny's husband Ray when she responded: "That's what Ray said. He said we'll save money on the electric when we're in bed.
"That's what he said: 'We won't have to turn the lamp on. I'll just say Jenny smile and I'll be able to find my phone.' He's a cheeky b*****d."
The start of series 20 saw the return of sisters Ellie and Izzie Warner after the former was absent from our screens since March, following an accident which saw boyfriend Nat Eddleston rushed to hospital and fighting for his life.
New mum Georgia Bell welcomed baby Hugh to the show for the first time after giving birth to her first child in July and she was joined once again by best friend Abbie Lynn.
