Gogglebox fan favourite Jenny Newby has given Channel 4 fans a health update after causing concern with her absence from the sofa alongside best friend Lee Riley.
The armchair critic recently underwent an operation in hospital, which pal Lee revealed on the BAFTA TV Award red carpet earlier this month.
But the Gogglebox star has now confirmed that she is set to return to Channel 4 screens after undergoing surgery for a minor illness.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday afternoon, Lee posted an adorable video of the close pals to their official account.
Lee started by saying: “Hi everybody, you'll never guess who I've just bumped into,” before panning the camera onto a smiling Jenny.
Jenny looked fighting fit as she said: “I just want to thank you all for your kind get well wishes, they've really cheered me up, thank you very much.”
Jenny then shared the update that the pair will not be on the show for the remainder of the current season, but will instead return for the twentieth series of the show later this year.
Giving away the date of the new series, Lee revealed: "September, guys. We'll be back in September. Have a lovely summer everybody!"
The pair, who live in Hull, have kept us entertained with their best friendship since 2014, with their quick quips, excellent side-eye reactions and brutal digs at each other.
They lifted the nation's spirits in lockdown when it emerged they'd moved in together to self-isolate so the show could go on.
This comes after Gogglebox stars left fans of the hit Channel 4 show devastated when they shared an update on filming for the show earlier this week.
Gogglebox stars Julie Malone and her husband Tom Malone Sr have now shared a filming update on the Channel 4 show, sharing that this week's episode is the last of the series.
Tom Snr said in a video shared to the couple's joint Instagram page: “We're getting near the end of the series now. Julie is throwing out these big words. I said it's the second to last night, Julie is saying what?”
Julie then chipped in saying: “It's the penultimate night.”
Tom Snr then joked: “This is education for you, does nothing does it.”
The married couple’s fans were quick to share their disappointment at the news, with one commenting: “No I can't believe it's nearly the end of the series. Friday night is Gogglebox night.”
Another wrote: “Hate it when Gogglebox is no longer on on a Friday night.”
