Gogglebox's Dave and Shirley suffer holiday hell as their Spanish trip becomes a 'shambles'

Gogglebox faves Dave and Shirley Griffiths have told fans of their holiday hell in Spain.

The Welsh couple, who have appeared on the Channel 4 show since 2015, took to Twitter to reveal how their trip has turned to a ‘shambles’. They jetted off last month and have been sharing pictures on social media of their getaway in Salou, on the Costa Dorada, Spain.

However, the popular Gogglebox pairing, revealed they’ve experienced a number of problems - including no running water. A Twitter post read: “@TUIUK what's happening at the hotel h10 vintage Salou all the electricity is off no water no toilets no food, can't even flush the toilet rep doesn't have no idea it's a shambles its been off since 2 o clock this afternoon now 11.30 and still not sorted.”

The couple did finally get a response around 24 hours later. A representative from TUI posted: “Hi Dave, I am sorry to hear there is an issue in resort.

"As you are in resort we are unable to assist further and would direct you to call our 24/7 holiday line who will be able to advise further. The number is +44 (0) 3333 365147. Thank you, ^Tamara.”

In a further piece of correspondence from TUI, another spokesperson gave an update. They said: “We completely understand how frustrating a short power outage can be and would like to apologise to those customers impacted at the H10 Mediterranean Village in Spain. Our TUI team contacted all customers staying at the hotel once the power was restored to offer a gesture of goodwill.”

The Gogglebox faves might regret trading their sofa in Caerphilly, in Wales, for Spain.
