There were two new faces on Gogglebox on Friday night - Annie and Ronnie - and viewers have given them a firm seal of approval.
After the sad deaths of Mary Cook, Andy Michael and Pete McGarry and the controversial exit of Paige Deville followed a huge fallout with her mum, show bosses revealed their intentions to bring in more cast members for the new series.
Exec producer Victoria Ray told the Daily Star : "There are going to be new faces. They’ll be joining during the current series."
Gogglebox remained tight lipped on who would be joining the show and when they'd be on screen but on Friday night, millions of viewers finally saw Ronnie and Annie on screen as the cast reacted to a whole host of TV highlights, including Rose and Giovanni's moving Couples' Choice routine from Strictly Come Dancing.
The married couple, who hail from East London, made their Gogglebox debut within five minutes of Friday's episode and those watching at home were quickly won over.
One tweeted: "Ronnie and Annie - instant hits," and, equally impressed, another posted: "I love Ronnie and Annie they're sweethearts"
Gogglebox posted a picture of Annie and Ronnie on their Twitter account, asking fans to welcome them and the post quickly gathered plenty of replies.
One responded: "Like them already, they seem to be so much in love. It’s so refreshing compared to the barbed words exchanged by some of the other couples," with another reacting: "I love them already. Good choice."
Comparing them to one of the Channel 4 programme's most popular couples ever, another commented: "Straight up got June and Leon vibes!"
