Gogglebox Mica Ven shares career update after fans gutted by show exit

Gogglebox's Mica Ven has shared a career update with fans on Instagram.

The armchair critic established herself as a fan favourite on the popular Channel 4 programme for her observations on the week's best TV. Mica first appeared on Gogglebox in 2018 and commentated on the show alongside her husband, Marcus Luther.

Fans were devastated when the married couple announced earlier this month they had quit Gogglebox. Viewers have taken to Instagram to question what is next for the reality TV stars.

Mica lifted the lid on her career away from the sofa as she said she will continue to work as a hairstylist. She said: "I've been a professional hairstylist for 28 years now, no matter what's next I'll always have my hands in someone's hair."

The couple thanked fans as they issued a statement to confirm their exit. They said: " We just want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to @c4Gogglebox for having us for the last 5 years, even though we had to travel so far for filming (downstairs & through the corridor) it was so worth it, it’s been an epic journey! You guys are the bestest of the best.

"We’ve had so much fun with you all tuning in at home & the hardworking Gogglebox crew’s but it’s time to put down the remote and see what else God has in store for us. To everyone that has tuned in & sent us messages of love and encouragement over the years, we appreciate every last one of you.

"Thank you so much. To the amazing cast, you’ll forever be our G’box brothers & sisters 4life. And lastly, to all our Yardie friends & family that always big us up to whoever will listen, when you’re chatting about our departure, the program’s called GOGGLEBOX not GOOOOOGLEbox, it’s not a dam search engine. We love youuuuuuu. Marky & Big Meesh" [sic]

Fellow Gogglebox stars rushed to say their goodbyes. Izzi Warner said: "We’ll miss you both!!", while Tristan Plummer said: "No [crying emoji]. We are gonna miss you, and all the best in the future family".

Daniel Lustig-Webb said: "We will miss you, good luck on the future xxx"

Fans also had their say in the comments section. Lauren said: "Absolutely gutted you guys are my faves", while Hannah said: "Thank you for the LOLs. Wishing you the best. I will not settle until I find that big Meesh and Marky kind of love". Jezzie said: "Me and my boyfriend absolutely adore you two! Sounds silly to say your personalities just fit so well, you’ll be missed but glad I get to see you on here".
