Gogglebox Malones 'confused' as fans 'cannot wait' for new episode

Gogglebox's Malone family have shared their confusion after the popular Channel 4 show was pulled from this week's Friday night TV schedule.

For many people up and down the country, the start of the weekend is signalled by the Channel 4 show. But this week, Friday Night Live aired at 9pm on Channel 4 instead.

A one-off revival of the 80s stand up show was broadcast to celebrate the show's 40th anniversary. Ben Elton returned to front the programme, welcoming comedy legends such as Harry Enfield, Julian Clary and Jo Brand.

While many seemed to enjoy the show, others were furious to miss Gogglebox. Taking to Twitter, Payton said: "I forgot that @C4Gogglebox is on tomorrow night instead of tonight and honestly, its ruined my whole evening", while Jason said: "When you remember there no #Gogglebox on tonight [crying emoji]."

Thankfully, Gogglebox will instead air tonight (Saturday) at 9pm on Channel 4. Ahead of the later episode, Julie Malone shared an update on Instagram.

A snap showed the mum alongside husband Tom Sr and son Shaun, on their iconic sofas. Captioning the post, Julie said: "Feeling confused !! It's a Saturday Gogglebox ! Xx"

Thrilled fans rushed to comment. Tracey said: "Can't wait!" while @speakstruthveryopinionated said: "Prosecco & chocolate is chilling in the fridge, cannot wait." Donna Michelle said: "Ahh that explains a lot, keep trying to play the episode from last night and it plays [the one from] last week!"
