Gogglebox legends Marcus and Mica to appear on hit BBC show weeks after quitting as armchair critics

Gogglebox stars Mica Venna and Marcus Luther have revealed exciting details to their fans about their upcoming appearance on a hit BBC show, just weeks after quitting as armchair critics. The couple announced last month that they would be leaving the Channel 4 series to pursue other things.

But they have now shared a backstage video filmed at the hit teatime quiz show Pointless Celebrities, the Mirror reports. Ahead of filming in the studio, Marcus posed in their dressing room and told the camera: “So guys we are going on game show - but we are feeling extremely dunce in here right now.

"It's general knowledge but we ain't got nothing general about our knowledge. I'm in here feeling dunce like I don't even know my name anymore.”

Mica then asked him: “What's the capital of England?” to which Marcus paused before laughing and saying: “You see what I'm saying? It's the pressure. I nearly said Japan. This is immense boy. It's a lot, but do you know what, Meesh? It's the taking part that counts.”

She responded: “It's embarrassing the end also that counts.” Marcus laughed and said: “Bloody hell. Here goes guys, wish me luck.”

The pair are on the show to raise funds for the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust Charity (ACLT).

Marcus and Mica left fans heartbroken when they announced their departure from Gogglebox last month. In a statement, they explained: “We’ve had so much fun with you all tuning in at home and the hardworking Gogglebox crew but it’s time to put down the remote and see what else God has in store for us.

"To everyone that has tuned in & sent us messages of love and encouragement over the years, we appreciate every last one of you. Thank you so much.”

They also posted the news on Instagram, along with a selfie and a sweet message to the show's crew. They wrote: “We just want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to @c4Gogglebox for having us for the last 5 years, even though we had to travel so far for filming (downstairs & through the corridor) it was so worth it, it’s been an epic journey! You guys are the bestest of the best.

Fans were gutted at the news. Dee commented: “Nooooooooooo! Change your mind !!! You too make Gogglebox!!!” And Yvonne said: “Awwww! I will definitely miss you guys! The jokes were real, but more than that the beautiful connection between both of you was so heartwarming. Wishing you the very best of luck, success and happiness in your next chapter!”

Kathryn wrote: “No way my faves. Going to miss you but best of luck with your next venture.” And Helen added: “You will be missed so much xxx.”
