Gogglebox isn't the first time Pete and Sophie Sandiford have been on TV

Gogglebox brother and sister Pete and Sophie Sandiford have been firm fan favourites since they joined the show in 2017.

The Blackpool siblings have just two years between them, and they have a close bond and spend a lot of time together. The two have viewers in stitches with their hilarious quips as they comment on the week's best TV.

But Gogglebox isn't the first time Sophie and Pete have appeared on our screens. In fact, they were actually scouted for the hit Channel 4 programme after appearing in adverts in 2016.

TalkTalk launched its 'This Stuff Matters' campaign after spending months interviewing families up and down the country. They finally set their sights on the Sandifords from Blackpool.

Mum Julie, Dad Paul, and kids Sophie and Pete - along with their brother and sister Lucy and Harry - and Elvis the dog all took part. They were filmed non stop for two weeks with 17 unmanned cameras to find the perfect "ordinary, everyday moments".

The end result was an advert that looks a lot like... Gogglebox. The Sandifords can be seen watching TV, eating their tea and chatting to friends on the phone and via video calls.

One tender moment shows Pete and Sophie embraced in a hug, while another shows the siblings trying to find out where the leak in a bottle of milk is coming from. The final clip shows the entire family sat together watching TV.

Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4 and All4
