Gogglebox fans in disbelief as 'icons' Sophie and Pete Sandiford share real ages and jobs

Pete Sandiford and his sister Sophie are Gogglebox favourites having starred on the hit series for years. The Blackpool siblings are very popular on social media and have racked up one of the biggest fanbases from the show.

But viewers were left shocked after Sophie shared her real age, which is 27. Pete said: "I'm glad you said it because I was about to say 25." He joked: "You old cow."

Sophie responded by revealing Pete was approaching another big milestone. She said: "You're the big 30 this year. A dirty 30."

Dozens of viewers took to Twitter to voice their disbelief. One said: "Can't believe Pete is nearly 30? He looks 18." Another said: "Pete and Sophie from Gogglebox are absolute icons."

The pair have also shared with Heat what their jobs away from the show are. Pete is a building company boss, it's revealed in a new interview with Heat, while Sophie is a florist.

Previously, he worked in insurance while she had a job at high street giant Debenhams until it fell into administration in 2019.

A special episode of Gogglebox aired last Friday (March 11) to celebrate 10 years of the show. To mark a decade on our screens, the Channel 4 show released a one-off 90-minute programme looking back at some of best moments since it first aired in 2013.

The episode featured some of the nation's favourite Gogglebox cast members from over the years, such as the late Mary Cook from Bristol. Mary, a former hospitality worker, first featured on the show alongside fellow Bristolian Marina Wingrove in 2016 and is fondly remembered for some iconic moments.

The special episode follows a former Gogglebox family revealing they are baffled after being axed from the show. Chantelle Walker joined the popular Channel 4 series with her family in 2020, but fans were left shocked after they disappeared following a couple of episodes.

She has now broken her silence about what happened with the series, and says she'd love to go back on. In a new interview with the Sun, Chantelle claims they were informed the team was "pausing filming" for a while.
