Sir Elton John is to host a one-off revival of the iconic comedy and entertainment show, linking in with Channel 4's 40th anniversary celebrations. He reunites the game-changing architects of anarchy who broke through in the mid-1980s, blending their ground-breaking comedy exploits with today's trailblazers who are storming the circuit.
The host is joined by co-horts from the original series such as Harry Enfield, Julian Clary and Jo Brand, and contemporary performers, as well as live music from Self Esteem.
Some Gogglebox fans have been left "gutted" by the news. Taking to a Facebook group for fans of the show, one viewer simply said: "No Gogglebox next week [crying emoji]".
Others were quick to share their disappointment. One Facebook user said: "Noooo, this is the worst news", while a second said: "An hour isn't even enough". A third said: "Well that's just ruined my day".
Thankfully, Gogglebox will instead air the following day (Saturday, October 22) at 9pm.
