A Gogglebox family say they were axed from the hit show - for a "bizarre" reason. Chantelle Walker joined the Channel 4 show with her family, but they disappeared after just a couple of episodes.
The Walkers were introduced to Gogglebox in 2020 but disappeared swiftly. In a new interview with the Sun, Chantelle claims they were informed the team was "pausing filming" for a while.
“They told us they 'didn’t have enough cameras to film us', so we thought they were going to come back and restart filming in the next season,” she said. “But that didn't happen. There was silence for a while and we didn’t know what was going on for months. Then they dropped us, which was a shock.
“There was no discussion, we couldn’t understand why - but what can you do when they tell you they don’t want to film anymore? They said they would be in contact if there was any time for us on future shows and other opportunities but we’ve not heard from them.
“People were shocked when we were dropped, even now they ask us when we are going back on." She added: “It was a good experience but I wish it could have been for longer. If I was asked to go on Gogglebox again I would do it.”
The Walker family are from North London. At the time of their debut back during the pandemic, fans were left delighted to see some new blood on the programme.
“Nice to see new families taking part,” said one at the time. And another commented, too, saying: “Liking the 2 new families tonight #GOGGLEBOX.”
