Operation Monarch is bringing Godzilla and King Kong to Call of Duty: Warzone on May 11, 2022. No, this isn’t an out-of-season April Fools joke.
On Thursday, Activision Blizzard announced that cinema’s most famous giant monsters will soon arrive in Call of Duty: Warzone. How the kaiju will fit into Season 3 is unknown, as no specifics outside of an exciting CGI trailer are available yet. Who needs details, though! What’s important is Godzilla and King Kong will throw down once again, hopefully without drilling any holes towards the Earth’s core this time.
Check out the announcement trailer for Call of Duty: Warzone’s Operation Monarch below. The scale of both titans is on point, at least. How players will contend with either beast remains a mystery. Activision will surely let everyone know in the coming weeks.

Rumors of Godzilla and King Kong crossing over into Call of Duty: Warzone were swirling about earlier this week, though nothing was official until now. PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account that shares content found on Sony databases, shared Operation Monarch’s promotional art on Wednesday.

Godzilla vs. Kong came out over a year ago, so this event might not be all that timely, but it’s hardly worth fussing over.
