‘Godsend’ £6.50 cooling Amazon product that helps you sleep in the heatwave

Going to bed with the weather as scorching as it has been is not fun. Windows open, covers off, fan on and the baggiest pyjamas you can find and it’s still. too. hot.

As a result, many shoppers have been struggling after a lack of sleep, battling headaches and a fatigue-induced grump - not that I’m speaking from experience. However, Amazon customers have hailed a £6.50 product a ‘godsend’, with one even saying it’s salvaged her relationship.

The cooling aid is a pack of two gel mats, which come in at £12.95 for two , and are perfect for the heatwave currently sweeping the UK.

The gel pillow cooling pad is perfect for those who are struggling to sleep at night. The jelly pads can be popped inside your pillow case and are designed to absorb and dissipate heat from your pillow, keeping it cool throughout the night.

The cushion is made using soft polyester material which is non-toxic, comfortable, and skin-friendly, as well as being ‘sweat repellent’, helping to maintain the optimal sleeping temperature.

Lightweight and easy to use, the sleeping pad has a separate gel compartment to avoid gel gathering on one side, meaning it will offer even cooling.

But it’s not just bedtime these pillow coolers come in handy, as they can also be used at the head of a yoga mat, as a pet cooling cushion, in the car - because we all know the greenhouse-style hell that is in summer - and as a laptop cushion. The brand also recommends it for menopause, migraine headaches, and other pains and insomnia.

The mats have received 1,800 five star reviews on Amazon , after they helped shoppers get their 40 winks in the heatwave.

D Johnson said: “The gel cooling mats are great for hot weather and were also recommended to me by a friend. Easy to use on your pillow they cool down the back of your head and neck making sleep so much easier in the hot weather. Good to use as they are, even better after refrigerating them.”

Laura T said they saved her relationship, adding: “I am one of those who slept with the window wide open, even in the winter, to keep me cold. My partner hates it. He also can't bear the sound of the fan...yea I.should probably get rid of him... but thought I'd spend less than a £10er to salvage our relationship. Best money I've spent (until I can afford air con or a move to Scotland).”

A Hawkins wrote: “Bought these to help keep my daughter cooler. That record temperature day we left them one at time in the fridge and put them under her and then bedtime fridge then under her sheet. She was a bit more comfortable.”

“The cooling mats have been a godsend during the heatwave,” said Leeds43. “I popped them in the fridge to make them extra cold. I put one in my pillow case and popped the other one under my feet and fell asleep really quickly. Such good value for money too.”

You can pick up the cooling mats for yourself from Amazon here , working out at £6.50 each, and prepare to finally enjoy your eight hours of beauty sleep in spite of the weather.
