Nearly four months on from his horror crash at Bathurst, youngster Zane Goddard has been offered a chance at redemption.

The 23-year-old will partner the legendary Craig Lowndes during enduro races this year after being signed by Triple Eight in Supercheap Auto's wildcard program.

In the past two years Broc Feeney, who secured his maiden Supercars win in December, and Declar Fraser have graduated to driving full-time in the championship after participating in the same role as Goddard.

Lowndes and Fraser finished a respectable eighth in last year's Bathurst 1000, something Goddard hopes he can replicate or even better in October.

"When I was younger, I loved watching Lowndesy winning races, and to now be partnering up with him for the enduro season is amazing," Goddard said.

"There's no one better to learn off especially leading into Bathurst because he's won there so many times."

Goddard earned the ire of the paddock at Bathurst when he attempted to overtake after a restart and lost control, veering across the track and was smashed into by Dale Wood's Holden, with Matt Campbell's Ford Mustang joining the pile-up.

All three cars were wrecked.

But powerful Triple Eight have shown faith in Goddard's ability to bounce back from the dramatic incident.

"Zane is an amazingly talented driver and the entire team are so excited to have him join us," Triple Eight boss Jamie Whincup said.

"His racing resume for such a young age is quite impressive ... he's going to be an incredible asset to our program.

"It's now up to us to give him all the support he needs to grab this opportunity with both hands."
