God help Celtic against Rangers if they can't handle roughhouse Alloa – Hotline

Celtic's Scottish Cup win at Alloa came at some cost with Callum McGregor suffering a sore one.

But some Hoops fans are pointing the finger at Wasps boss Barry Ferguson – accusing the Rangers great of trying to help his old team.

Eddie Easson, Ballingry, said: “Wee Baz wasps set out to sting Celtic. Some of the tackling was terrible, especially the one on Guchi, the flying elbow on Calmac left its mark as did the tackle on Abada.

“Will the Celtic hierarchy be demanding a meeting with SFA? I don't think so. Celtic have too much dignity for that.

“The SFA should've hunted Rangers instead of sucking up to them.”

John Caw , via email, said: “Ferguson sent out a team of assassins to soften Celtic up for their forthcoming games .

“One particular tackle on Guchi should have been immediately a red.”

Charlies Buchanan emailed: “No wonder Ferguson is still managing down in the lower league.

“He hasn't released football has moved on in the last twenty years. That was thuggery. Hammer throwing tactics.

“No surprise there with Celtic playing important games in the next couple of weeks.”

While David Bryce, Troon , said: “Celtic were horrendous against Alloa. They were roughhoused and couldn’t handle it.

“Rogic has been woeful since the restart and if Gio Gioukoumakis is our only option up front come the Rangers game then god help us. This was more dross served up by Postecoglou.”

Rangers complained to the SFA about ref Kevin Clancy in last week’s Aberdeen draw.

But Gordon Ashley, Ayr , said: “Something must be done about Rangers’ attempt to pressurise referees.

“As usual they have been given the best penalty ratio of any club in the league and you can see why with the denial of another stone waller and the meltdown when one is finally given against them. Referees must stand strong against this intimidation.”

Albert Styles, Aberdeen, said: “I’m fed up of spoiled brats Rangers fans fans complaining when things don't go their way.

“Rangers should have been down to 10 men long before Kent got sent off, and probably a goal down If the penalty had been awarded.

“Paul Gascoigne, Graeme Roberts and Ally McCoist loved to wind up players and fans. Rangers need to grow up.”

Richard Casey, Norwich , said: “Is it true that Stirling Albion have sent a letter asking the SFA why John Beaton gave two penalties in two minutes, and Rangers sent another asking why the one they missed wasn’t retaken?”

Dons captain Scott Brown was in the firing line for winding up Gers.

But Alan McPherson, Cullen Moray , said: “Colin Hendry says Scott Brown should be stripped of the captaincy of my team because of his antics on the field.

“I don’t recall him criticising Gazza when he played for Rangers. I never thought I would be supporting Brown after his Celtic career but I have changed my mind since he came to us ,the truth is, every other team in Scotland would love to have someone like him in their team.”

Here’s either a wind up or a wild idea.

Daniel Breen emailed: “I think Rangers should go for Griffiths. Get him fit and he will give goals week in, week out as long as he is getting a supply of ball through to him – and he will love scoring against Celtic after they did the dirty on him.”

Finally, Martin Boyle is off to make a few quid in the Middle East but Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: “A move all about money and zero ambition.”
