Garrett Wilson burst onto the scene as a rookie last season with over 1,100 receiving yards while having four different quarterbacks at one point or another. His play earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Entering his second year — and having Aaron Rodgers throw him the football — Wilson is set to take the league by storm. Count Peter Schrager of Good Morning Football among his believers this season. Schrager ranked his top five breakout wide receiver candidates for 2023. Wilson landed at the very top of the list.
“Wilson had monster numbers and an NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year season with maybe the worst quarterbacks room in the entire NFL a year ago,” Schrager said, as video of OTAs played on the screen.
“He and Rodgers are going to have their own sort of chemistry,” he added.
It’s hard to argue. After seeing how good Wilson was last year with the quarterback play he had, one can only imagine what he can produce with Rodgers behind center. Fantasy owners are salivating at his prospects, let alone Jets fans and now the national media.
