Sir Cliff Richard took a cheeky swipe at chart rival Stormzy on today's edition of Good Morning Britain.
The veteran singer, 82, had a chat with the ITV show's entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold ahead of finding out the results of the unlikely chart battle dubbed 'Mistletoe V Grime' this weekend.
Sir Cliff and Stormzy, 29, are going head-to-head in the albums charts, with The Millennium Prayer singer hoping to take the top spot off the rapper with his first Christmas-inspired album in 20 years.
During the pre-recorded chat with Richard on the ITV show this morning, Sir Cliff couldn't resist a cheeky swipe at Stormzy as he discussed their respective albums and the close battle to bag the number one spot this weekend - with only 600 units between the two singers currently.
"He's doing, I'm doing it, but I've never got through it easily," Sir Cliff claimed to Richard during their chat.
"It's always been a competition with someone else and if you've got the better record then you've got it."
Sir Cliff then went on to show a CD copy of Stormzy's new album, This is What I Mean, and say: "Look, this is Stormzy's album... 12 tracks on this album."
"Ladies and gentleman," the singer added as he turned to address the cameras, "My album has 13 tracks so.... [laughter]."
Good Morning Britain viewers were quick to pick up on Sir Cliff's cheeky declaration and took to social media to give their verdict on the singer's boast about an extra song.
"Cliff Richard throwing shade at Stormzy? What a complete f***er #gmb," one angry viewer tweeted after the segment aired, with another adding: "Did Cliff really try to critique Stormzy then? lol #GMB."
A third sensationally declared: "One thing you can say about #CliffRichard , he can always be relied upon to be an entitled, up his own ass piece of [poo emoji]."
Speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show earlier this week, Sir Cliff admitted his chart rival was "a stranger" to him prior to their chart battle.
“I don't live here anymore. So for me, [Stormzy] was a stranger to the business," the singer explained on the radio show.
"But for me, it's fantastic. I keep telling myself how is this happening? Next year is going to be my 65th year, and here I am competing with someone who is the highest selling artist of the decade. And he's got to compete with me? I'm thrilled, win or lose."
The Mistletoe and Wine singer also revealed during the chat how he wasn't planning to release another Christmas album, but is glad he's decided to deck the halls once again.
"The record company requested a Christmas album and I thought, ‘well, I haven't done one for years.’ I didn't realise it was nearly 20 years ago," Sir Cliff explained.
He added: "They then sent me about 100 titles or more. I didn't realise there were that many Christmas songs that have been released over the years.
"So I picked nine, and then I found three new ones. They were very happy to add the new ones. That's where the single comes from. It’s just an exciting time."
