GMB viewers slam Adil Ray's 'stupid' question as Ukrainians quizzed on losing friends

Good Morning Britain viewers have slammed Adil Ray for asking a 'stupid question' to two tearful Ukrainian doctors over the tragic loss of their friends in Ukraine overnight.

Doctor Kateryna and Oleksandr joined the ITV breakfast show this morning to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

The pair, who are currently near Kyiv, are staying in the country despite the conflict so Oleksandr can enlist in the army and Kateryna can provide medical assistance to those who have been injured.

However, viewers tuning in to watch Adil and Susanna Reid on the ITV show this morning were left outraged by Adil's questioning over the pair's friends they had lost in the conflict.

The interview began with Susanna asking how the pair were this morning, as Kateryna said: "This morning was difficult for us because last night was very tough. There were a lot of sirens last night.

"It's also difficult as this night we stayed at home because the bomb shelter was full. There was no space for us. It was difficult for us."

As they continued to discuss their inability to get into a bomb shelter, Adil then stepped in to say: "Oleksandr we've also heard you've had some very sad news overnight that friends of yours - I believe in the north - over rocket fire.

"That must be really really hard for you to accept and take in at this point."

The cameras crossed over to the two doctors but Oleksandr was lost for words, both of them speechless.

As he started to cry, Adil quickly stepped in to say: "You don't have to say anything. We don't want you to get upset and can see how hard this might be. Our thoughts are with you. It must be - for you going through and just trying to stay alive, and survive, and not only that, you're helping others - and then to hear about your friends the other side of the country, it must be very difficult."

Kateryna then admitted it was tough, as they discussed their own emotions amid the Russia Ukraine conflict.

Viewers tuning in to watch the breakfast show today slammed Adil over the 'stupid question', branding it 'disgusting'.

" @GMB what a stupid question Your friends have been killed how do you feel What a tosser," one wrote, as a second criticised the line of questioning as he added: "Your line of questioning is disgusting."

A third shared: "What a stupid question to ask! Have a bloody heart."

" #gmb FFS Adil. Are you happy that you got the reaction you wanted now?" a fourth person wrote online.
