GMB viewers confused as Laura Tobin interrupted by 'drunk weathermen'

Good Morning Britain closed the week on a merry note, as presenter Laura Tobin was interrupted during a segment by someone viewers dubbed a "drunk weatherman".

Laura was presenting from the Nordkette mountain in Innsbruck, Austria, as a number of weather presenter from across the world gathered at the beauty spot for the annual International Weather Summit.

The ITV star and around 30 fellow meteorologists from different channels all over the globe all presented the weather at the same time on top of the nature park.

Things didn't exactly go to plan for Laura and Good Morning Britain, as the star was interrupted by several times by her fellow weather presenters as she tried to speak to Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway in the London studios via video link.

Laura burst into laughter at one point during the chaotic segment, when Polish presenter joined her on screen and burst into song.

The fun didn't stop there, as an Austrian then paid Laura's patch a visit to offer her a slice of cake live on-air.

"I'm bringing you the traditional Austrian cake called Sacher Torte," he told the Good Morning Britain weatherwoman, before she politely moved focus away from him.

Viewers watching at home pondered whether the enthusiastic weathermen could have possibly enjoyed a drink or two before appearing on TV.

"The Austrian weather guy is p***ed," one suggested on Twitter as the show aired, with another adding: " What is this Eurovision version of weather presenters?"

"That Polish weatherman is clearly drunk," a third claimed.

Some viewers loved the energy of the live broadcast on Friday morning.

"I'm loving the other European weather presenters in Innsbruck - I want to go to their after party! They look fun," one happy fan told their Twitter followers during the show.

On a more serious note, some questioned the ethics of presenters from across the world travelling in order to highlight the danger of the climate crisis.

"I realise that the Weather conference in Innsbruck is important, but the thing that struck me is what about their Carbon Footprint? We all go on about this and Climate Change, but we all need to practice what we preach," one unimpressed viewer mused.

Another agreed, writing: "If they care about climate change, why have they travelled to Innsbruck to tell us the weather in the UK?"

"The collective name for weather people at a weather/ climate get together would be A bunch of hypocrites," a third slammed online.
