GMB to air special Sunday show as ITV reveals full schedule after Queen's death

ITV has announced its full scheduling for Sunday, after major changes to planned programming following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.

Since the sad news of her passing, channels in the UK, including ITV, have majorly switched up their planned schedules to make way for ongoing news coverage, and tributes to the Queen.

Soaps and other shows were dropped, while Saturday's schedules saw a return to normal of sorts, with planned programmes going ahead from the evening onwards.

Similarly, the schedule for Sunday has now revealed major changes to the schedules, while also some normality with evening TV.

Good Morning Britain is back for a 55-minute episode on Sunday morning (ITV)

Good Morning Britain will air on a Sunday which is unusual, given it normally airs Mondays to Fridays.

That said, a special programme was aired on Saturday morning, and now the same will occur on Sunday at 9:30am, following a number of documentaries about the Queen.

The special episode will air until 10:25 Sunday morning, before viewers will have another chance to see Queen Elizabeth II, an ITV documentary voiced by Mary Nightingale, at this time.

Following this will be a special news programme, ITV News: The Nations Proclaim the King from 11.30am.

A scheduled ITV News bulletin will be next at 1.30pm with a return to special continuous news coverage at 2pm, running through to 4.30pm.

After this, viewers will be able to see another documentary film, The Age of Elizabeth, narrated by Julie Etchingham.

This one-hour film takes a look at some of the momentous events across the Queen’s reign.

ITV has announced its full scheduling for Sunday (ITV)

ITV has confirmed a bulletin from ITV National News will follow at 5.30pm, with local News at 6.25pm.

At this time, the channel will switch to other programmes including planned shows that were already meant to air that evening.

Kicking off with Emmerdale at 6:35pm, following this will be Gino’s Italy at 7.30pm, and Ridley at 8pm. ITV News at Ten will follow Ridley.

* This weekend, the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror celebrate the life of Her Majesty the Queen with a commemorative special filled with all the key moments from Britain’s longest reigning monarch. Be sure to pick up your copy of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror to get both pullouts.
