Susanna Reid has shared a message sent into Good Morning Britain from a viewer left furious by the damning photo of Boris Johnson at a Downing Street party during lockdown, with people watching at home equally incensed by the latest controversy.
The Prime Minister has already received a fine from the Metropolitan Police for attending an illegal party during lockdown, with many of the public accusing him of telling blatant lies in the lead up to being found out. And now the Partygate scandal has hit the headlines again after a photo emerged of Johnson raising a glass at a party he'd previously denied being at.
ITV News obtained four images showing the Prime Minister with a drink in his hand while stood behind a table littered with wine bottles and food. The broadcaster said the pictures were taken at the November 13 2020 leaving party for then-director of communications Lee Cain. The new photo has understandably sparked further controversy, given that just eight days earlier, the PM had plunged England into the second national lockdown of the Covid pandemic.

Sharing its contents with colleagues and viewers at home Susanna began: "I'm sure you're going to have people come on and say 'it doesn't matter move on,' regarding this photograph but to many of us it does matter. In November 2020 it was awful in our care home. We were living in PPE and having to deal with, not just the virus but families kept apart by the virus, talking through windows or on tiny Zoom screens on iPads and people with dementia who couldn't grasp what was going on and thought all their family were dead because they hadn't seen them for so long.
She continued: "That glass of wine pictured in his hand was basically thrown in the face of everyone who followed the rules he set, including the NHS workers he stood outside Number 10 and clapped for. Yes it does matter."
The video of the letter being read by Susanna was shared by Susanna and
