GMB's Susanna Reid clashes with Dominic Raab in 'chaotic' Chris Pincher row

Good Morning Britain viewers were left glued to their screens on Tuesday as tempers flared between Susanna Reid and Dominic Raab in a tense row over Chris Pincher.

Pincher was suspended as a Conservative MP last week after being accused of groping two men at a private members club while drunk. He resigned from his position as Deputy Chief Whip and a complaint was lodged with the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme, prior to him being suspended by his party.

Since then a number of historical accusations have made in respect of Pincher, dating back more than two years when he was a foreign office minister. It transpired on Monday that Boris Johnson was aware of concerns surrounding Pincher's behaviour prior to him being appointed deputy chief whip, with an internal investigation upholding allegations made against him, despite claims that Johnson was the Prime Minster was not aware of any "specific allegations."

The scandal has dominated news broadcasts over the past 24 hours and was a big talking point on GMB as Raab joined presenter Susanna and co-host Ed Balls via video link. Susanna and the Deputy Prime Minister have had a few fraught exchanges over the last few years and it didn't take long for relations between them to turn rather frosty once again as Susanna asked how someone "found guilty of inappropriate behaviour," was allowed to then become Deputy Chief Whip.

Quick to take exception to Susanna's wording, Raab replied: "You say found guilty, but no formal disciplinary action was taken," before she interrupted to shoot back: "An investigation upheld the complaint! An investigation upheld the complaint."

Not changing his stance, Raab told her: "Sorry Susanna, you're wrong about what happened and it's important to clarify." He added: "It's absolutely true that an investigation took place; I was clear the er, ermmm substance to these claims and what had happened," as she interjected again to remark: "I'm not sure what we're arguing about here Mr Raab. The investigation..." as he jumped into say: "You're using the word 'guilty' and that's simply wrong."

Steadfast in her approach, Susanna asked: "So what does an investigation upheld the complaint of inappropriate behaviour for which Mr Pincher then apologised mean?"

Raab continued to try and correct Susanna for using the word guilty as, losing patience, she questioned: "Well was he guilty of inappropriate behaviour or not?!" Raab conceded "the claim was found to be substantiated," to which Susanna replied: "So he was guilty of inappropriate behaviour," only to be told by the politician that "guilty is a very loaded term."
