Susanna Reid has publicly celebrated ratings success for Good Morning Britain, just as Ben Shephard's return had many viewers saying the same thing - those two should present the show on a full time basis.
Former BBC Breakfast anchor and Strictly star Susanna has been on GMB for eight years now, famously spending much of that spell sitting next to Piers Morgan, before his much publicised exit from the show in 2021. More recently bosses on the ITV breakfast show have teamed up her up with ex This Morning host Richarc Madeley and, while he certainly gets people talking, he has also prompted a very similar reaction to Piers, in that some people love to watch him, while others have called for him to be replaced.
Guest host Gordon Smart received plenty of positive feedback for his two day GMB stint alongside Charlotte Hawkins last week, but it was Ben coming back into the fold on Thursday to join Susanna that delighted many viewers, with his return arriving just as Susanna shared the news that Good Morning Britain achieved its highest audience share since June 2021 earlier this week.

Celebrating the news on Twitter, she wrote: "RATINGS: Wow! What a return to the New Year. @GMB peaked at over 1 million viewers and achieved its highest share since June 2021. So proud of the team & what we bring you the viewers, every morning. The issues that matter plus moments of joy. Thank you for watching."
While those ratings were achieved when Susanna hosted with Richard, it's Ben who regular viewers want to be her full time presenting partner in crime. Reacting to seeing them reunited behind the hosting desk, one fan took to Twitter to post: "The dream team Susanna and Ben - true presenters who don’t show their political views in their manner and attitude when interviewing.."
Backing the pairing, a second tweeted: "We love both Ben & Susanna on GMB, is why we liked Richard and Judy on This morning many years ago."
