Kate Garraway was moved by the "lucky" sight of a supermoon during a family holiday following a difficult period for the presenter whose husband was recently rushed to hospital.
The Good Morning Britain presenter's husband, Derek, returned to hospital in July, where he was treated for a life-threatening bout of sepsis. Derek had previously spent months in hospital after falling seriously ill through coronavirus in 2020.
Kate shared the snap of the bright red supermoon taken from a break in Wales. She described the sight as "strangely moving".

She wrote: " that’s no moon … it’s a space station “ Am sure you are all seeing the #supermoon - sturgeon super moon I am told - strangely moving isn’t it & I am lucky enough to have a prime spot to watch it shining on the gorgeous waters of the north wales coast #nofilters #starwars."
Kate returned to ITV for her Garraway Good Stuff show after taking a break from the airwaves to spend time with her family. Earlier in August she revealed husband Derek nearly died from sepsis.
Derek had already spent more than a year in hospital being treated for Covid, returning home in April 2021, before a nasty bout of sepsis meant he was admitted again in July.
Speaking this morning, Kate told co-host Richard Madeley: "I dramatically disappeared and haven’t been here for three weeks now… We were on air and Derek had come out of hospital, he’s been going in and out of hospital for a while for looking at ways to tackle the damage caused by Covid back in 2020.
"But we haven’t really had any sort of medical eruptions, and then he just was really unwell.
"He’d come out of hospital the day before and (I) got a phone call from the person who was looking after him saying, ‘right, we’re really worried’, so I whizzed home, and it just sort of went ‘boom’ from there."
