GMB's Kate Garraway 'shamed' by bosses live on air after 'horrifying' them with Christmas remark

Kate Garraway had to insist she was joking, after being 'shamed' live on air for a remark she made about Christmas, during Thursday's show.

After telling her many Instagram followers that she had a big of a challenge to get her hands on a Christmas tree for her family this year, with her relying on the help of members of the public to achieve her aim, popular presenter Kate was back on the ITV breakfast show alongside friend and colleague Ben Shephard.

The hosting duo wasted no time in talking about Christmas in the opening moments of the episode, talking about festive traditions is soon as cameras started rolling just after 6am. Ben quizzed Kate on which ones she would absolutely refuse to compromise on with Kate admitting she was left disappointed by how few people appear to enjoy singing carols these days.

She then went onto having Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, before revealing that one tradition she definitely wouldn't mind giving up would be doing the washing up. She told Ben: "Washing up I'd like to compromise. Would it be alright if I just didn't do any Christmas washing up this year? Leave it."

She then added: "Just leave it; find a cat, they can lick it clean." Ben immediately screwed his face up at Kate's suggestion and it didn't take long for other members of the GMB to voice their disapproval, as Kate informed viewers she'd had a few comments in her ear piece.

Looking down the lens, Kate reacted: "My god! I've actually had shame and horror in my ear from the gallery," before clarifying: "That was a joke!"
