Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway says that she worries about colleagues being "fed up" with her as her husband continues to recover from Covid. Derek Draper first contracted coronavirus in March 2020 and ended up in intensive care, going on to spend more than a year in hospital.
Derek's recovery and journey home was the subject of an award-winning documentary. Kate Garraway, Derek's wife, became visibly emotional as she opened up to Lorraine Kelly about Derek's latest health situation, reports Mirror Online.
Kate was sat alongside Ben Shephard as the pair joined Lorraine to talk about the launch of Good Morning Britain's '1 Million Minutes' campaign. When asked about how Derek was doing, Kate said: "Oh, I mean you know, it's a long onslaught. I can see he has better days, he has worse days.

"He is thankfully at home now. It's been a long battle to get him back home again.
"I can't help thinking, you Lorraine, all the people around me, the people at GMB, at Smooth Radio as well must be fed up to the back teeth of it. That is the problem, I think, if you are caring or if you have a long-term situation as Derek has. It doesn't go away quickly and the fight goes on."
Kate fought back tears as she praised Ben Shephard for being "extraordinary' during Derek's recovery, saying: "I think it's very tough on him and very tough on the people around me actually. All jokes aside, Ben - for all his unbelievable cheek - has been extraordinary."
Ben was quick to reassure Kate that everyone understood her need to speak about the situation. He said: "The really important thing to say it Kate thinks that - and that is just not the case. I can understand how you feel like that because it dominates your life."
