Kate Garraway was praised for calling out Gavin Williamson's knighthood during an interview with his colleague Dominic Raab on Good Morning Britain.
On Thursday afternoon it was announced that the former Education Secretary, who came under fire for cancelling A-levels and GCSEs two years in a row, will be knighted.
A Downing Street statement said: "The Queen has been pleased to approve that the honour of Knighthood be conferred upon The Rt. Hon. Gavin Williamson CBE MP."
While it is now yet known when Williamson will become a Sir, the news he will have the title bestowed on him has been met with widespread disdain.

Williamson was accused of 'letting children go hungry' after refusing to extend the free school meals scheme during the pandemic, despite u-turns brought about by a campaign from footballer Marcus Rashford.
It was a hot topic on Friday's GMB, particularly when deputy minister Raab joined Kate and her co-host Ben Shephard via video link.
After telling them the Russian invasion of Ukraine 'is not going to be over in days or weeks, it is going to take a lot longer," Ben quizzed Raab on Williamson's honour, asking: "does he deserve the honour."
Raab replied: "Yes, I think in recognition of the service he's given, both in Parliament and also in Government and it's not out of keeping with honours that have been provided over the years, or awarded over the years under successive governments."
Kate shouted out: "Well why haven't you got one then?!" to which he replied: "Well I'm still in the cabinet, but those decisions are made by others and I...you know; it normally happens when someone steps down from cabinet or Government."
Kate then fired back: "Or fired in fact....in Gavin's case," to which Raab replied "You choose your words, I'll choose mine."
Kate's quip was widely commended by GMB viewers at home, with one replying: "Go Kate!! or fired in his case."
Equally impressed with her dig, another tweeted: "nice one Kate," and a third reacting: "Could there be a more obvious and blatant show of, “we’ll make our own truth and we don’t care what you think”
