GMB's Kate Garraway apologises for TV absence as she deals with 'urgents' at home

Kate Garraway has issued an apology as she explained her TV absence.

The 54-year-old broadcaster usually fronts Friday's edition of Good Morning Britain alongside Ben Shephard. However, she was replaced on yesterday's programme by Charlotte Hawkins.

Kate has addressed her absence on Instagram as she revealed to her 1.1m followers that she had to deal with "urgents" at home. She said: "So apologies for my absence from @gmb this last week - had to deal with some “urgents” at home

"But before that managed to get a whole hour dollop of #garrawaysgoodstuff in the bag for you . Great #feelgood shares from @peterandre & @jamesbaymusic - plus this?!"

Kate shared a clip from the programme of her and the celebrities bouncing on a mini trampoline. She added: "Note to self - wear a sports bra - note to @peterandre - wear a belt."

Alongside her TV work, Kate helps care for her husband Derek, who fell critically ill after contracting coronavirus. Fans rushed to the comments to share message of support following the update.
