Charlotte Hawkins forced her new Good Morning Britain colleague Gordon Smart to change his tie, minutes into Friday's show, with the Scottish star looking taken aback by her request.
Just as they did a 24 hours earlier, GMB regular and former Strictly contestant Charlotte teamed up with journalist and Radio X host Gordon to host the latest live edition of the ITV breakfast show, having received plenty of praise for their partnership when Gordon made his debut on Thursday.
Friday's GMB got off to a rather sombre start as Charlotte and Gordon addressed the deaths of global icons Pele and Vivienne Westwood, as well as highlighting reports that the NHS is massively under pressure and suggestions that the UK government could soon enforce Covid testing for travellers arriving from China.
Gordon appeared on screen wearing a dark screen tie, but around 20 minutes into the broadcast, Charlotte took exception to Gordon's choice of neckwear and told him: "It is our last Good Morning Britain before New Year's Eve. Some people have noticed that I've come dressed ready for the New Year's Eve party and you're looking a little bit more sombre," as he quipped: "I'm looking a bit Scottish, is that what you're saying?"
Charlotte continued: "I thought I'd 'Good Morning Britain you up' a bit and what about this?" before presenting him with a light pink alternative and adding: "I'm not entirely sure whose this tie is, but anyway, I'm sure they won't mind." Gordon remarked: "I was going to put something a bit sombre on today, but I guess Pele and Vivienne Westwood are big characters," to which Charlotte replied: "We need to celebrate their lives. Vivienne would love this tie."
The hosts then cut to another item and then when the camera fell on Charlotte and Gordon again, he'd changed ties.
