GMB's Ben Shephard shows off sweaty workout as he pumps iron in the gym

Good Morning Britain's Ben Shephard showed off his sweaty workout as he pumped iron in the gym.

The 47-year-old delighted his fans with the snippets from his workout routine, as he uploaded clips on his Instagram Stories.

Ben was pushed to the max by personal trainer James Stark, and in the first clip, he can be seen doing push ups with kettlebells, while his feet are raised behind him.

Wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts, Ben looked red-faced and was grimacing as he pushed through the pain, and his personal trainer had more punishing exercises for him during the exhausting session.

Next, Ben stood on a box while dipping low on one leg, and holding a heavy-looking kettlebell, as James said the TV presenter was “focusing on control”.

Despite the painful-looking workout session, Ben told his followers it was a great way to start the day, as he posted a picture of him and his PT posing together.

The dad-of-two then joked he had to put a filter on the picture as he re-shared it to his Stories, because he looked too pale.

“Needed this filter to match @s74rks tan! Cracking start to the day as ever,” Ben wrote.

The Ninja Warrior UK host has spoken previously about how fitness is a big part of his life, and in an interview in 2020, Ben said he was “more flexible than ever” now he’s in his 40s.

He told Men’s Fitness he was “inspired” by the contestants on Ninja Warrior UK, who had “such agility and flexibility”.

“That’s changed a lot of what I’m doing now – anything that involves functional movements and flexibility,” he explained.

“I’m 45 and probably more flexible than ever. It’s an ongoing journey and shifts all the time, and I’m inspired by things I see and get to try,” Ben explained.

The TV host is a big sports lover, and counts kitesurfing, rugby, golf and wakeboarding as some of his hobbies.

Ben has also completed 14 marathons in the past ten years, and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2019 alongside celebs including Ronan Keating, Denise Van Outen and Gary Barlow.

However, he was left in agony earlier this year, as he underwent surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and a torn meniscus in his leg.

Ben took two weeks off GMB, and has been documenting his recovery on social media.
