Gloucestershire bookkeeping firm BookCheck has appointed a new managing director.
James Wetherall will work alongside the Stroud-based outsourced bookkeeping and payroll company's founding managing director, Anthony Pilkington, who will become executive chair.
Mr Wetherall has worked as new client manager for BookCheck since December 2021 and is a chartered accountant. He will retain his new client responsibilities as part of his new role.
"I am really pleased to be taking on this new role of managing director with BookCheck. Right from day one I was impressed by the quality of the BookCheck service and it’s team," he said. "I am excited to be working with Anthony and seeing BookCheck go from strength to strength”.
The firm said Mr Pilkington would support Mr Wetherall in his new role as well as working on strategic development, liaising with existing clients and winning new ones. He will also lead on the work the firm is developing with Xero and add-ons, with its recently established sister company BookCheck X.
Mr Pilkington said Mr Wetherall's appointment would "strengthen" the management of the company - and allow it to develop "strongly".
“I am absolutely delighted that James has accepted our offer to become our new managing director and that we have been able to secure somebody of his calibre to drive the business forward," he said.
“Our unique products and services have seen us come out of the pandemic stronger than ever and we are seeing substantial growth. I am really confident and excited about working with James to enhance develop further our service provision and grow the business."
