Celtic's A-Team will be taking on J-League opposition this summer after arranging a homecoming tour for the Hoops’ Japanese stars.
And Nick Campbell, Edinburgh, reckons the trip to the Land of the Rising Sun will only propel Ange Postecoglou's side further in front of the rest of Scotland's chasing pack. He said: “The importance of Celtic’s impending title win this season can’t be understated. On top of the guaranteed Champions League bounty it also allows Ange to enjoy a money-spinning pre-season in Japan, a trip that in itself will probably rake in more than all of our domestic prize money combined.”
Jim McSorley, Bothwell, said: “The announced trips to Japan and South Korea give Celtic the chance to widen the gap with the rest of Scottish football. Mixing with Premier League clubs will not only sharpen the squad for the 23/24 season but will also provide millions to bring in new players as well.”
Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, added: “Celtic are going on a Far East tour of Asia when their successful season ends while Rangers will only make it as far west as Oban as that is all they can afford! Changed days. Michael Beale says he needs to buy a dozen players but can't afford a dozen eggs.”
The Parkhead faithful remain in gleeful mood after Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final victory over their arch-rivals put them on course for another domestic clean sweep – and they’re not done gloating.

Kevin Lord, Drylaw, called to say: “I can believe Rangers' latest boss believes in luck – they played like they were hoping something would happen while Celtic played like the wanted to MAKE something happen.”
Eddie Easson, Ballingry, Fife , said: “I would just like to send best wishes to all our missing friends on here. Some are obviously unwell and unable to get to their phones. No doubt normal service will resume next if Rangers beat their biggest rivals Aberdeen at the weekend. It will paper over the cracks.”
Caller Robert Pender’s dig at the Celtic support’s anti-coronation chant drew a response from Tam Williamson, Lanarkshire, who said: “Robert Pender has a point regarding the anti-coronation chants from the Celtic support as it has no place in sport. But Robert somehow forgets to mention the non-stop anti-Irish, sectarian chants from the Rangers support which shames our country worldwide EVERY week!”
Meanwhile, John Caw called to say: “Sorry to see Bobby Madden hanging up his whistle, he was one of the few good referees. A well-deserved retirement.”
And finally, Neil Renton, Edinburgh, is hoping for a big arrival in Leith this summer, saying: “That’s some coincidence that on the day Hibs launch a scheme to get more money from their fans, Lionel Messi pretty much ends his PSG career. I can’t wait to see the wee man weave his magic at Easter Road next season although he’ll have to displace Martin Boyle first.”
