Former Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray believes the perception that Everton 'have too much talent to go down' will benefit Leeds United in their pursuit of staying in the Premier League.
The Whites moved four points clear of the bottom three on Sunday as they defeated Norwich City 2-1 at Elland Road thanks to a 94th minute winner from Joe Gelhardt.
This was also the first victory of Jesse Marsch's reign at Elland Road following his appointment last month after losing against Leicester City and Aston Villa in his opening two games in charge.
However, it proved to be massive win in the context of the relegation battle, as Burnley and Everton both lost, while Watford's success at Southampton has tightened the gap at the bottom.
When analysing the battle to avoid the drop, Murray has admitted that Everton have a tough job on their hands to stay up, while he also praised the Leeds supporters for sticking with the team.
He told the Monday Night Club: "I think when you take the current situation out of it, Leeds have gone through some really tough times, they appreciate the position their in.
"Their fans are not going to break rank with them, they've been in League One, the Championship for a long, long time and much longer than anyone expected.
"Micah [Richards] mentioned the point that Everton have three games in hand on Leeds, and everyone is saying they have too much talent to go down, but I think this suits Leeds. On paper Everton shouldn't be there and they need to react quickly."
