A singer called Lyric - who has a brother named Chord - says she is grateful to her parents for giving them such unique and fitting names. Lyric Mederios, 21, and her brother, Chord, 23, say they both suit their unusual monikers and "wouldn't change them" for the world.
Their dad, Glenn Medeiros, 52, was a musician in the 80s known for hits like 'Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You' and 'Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone'.
Lyric, a university student, said: "Music has always been a part of our lives in some way, shape or form. My mum was the one who came up with our names and thought Chord and Lyric would be cute and here we are today. I am so grateful to my parents for giving me such a unique name because it definitely makes me stand out."
Lyric was born on May 1, 2001, to her parents, Glenn and Tammy, 52, a nail stylist. Her older brother Chord, 23, a civil engineer, was born a year earlier on February 3, 2000.
Lyric said: "People definitely take a second look at our names to pronounce them correctly. If anything it has been a blessing because it makes us stand out - it is a really unique name.
"A lot of people compliment our names saying they are so cool and clever and they love it. We have only ever had positive reviews with our names."
Lyric says she's never been bullied or had remarks made about her name - claiming people are always interested to find out the story behind them.

She said: "The one thing people are mistaken about my name is they often spell it wrong. When I am ordering food they ask me two or three times.
"I then explain my name is spelt like lyrics in a song and they say how cool it is. It is the same for my brother too, but when they hear Chord and Lyric together it is always a positive response.
"I have never had a negative response to my name. Lyric is more of a common name nowadays too.
"Whenever I post it on social media, people say they know a lot of people named Lyric, but they have never heard the name Chord. Chord and Lyric together is a very unique brother and sister duo."
Lyric is following in her dad's footsteps and has auditioned for American Idol - which will air this Sunday in the US.
The young musician, from Honolulu, Hawaii, said: "Ever since I could sing, my dad and I have always sung together. We have bonded over music.
"Given that my dad got his start in the industry through a singing competition and now I have the opportunity to go on a singing competition it is so crazy. It is coming full circle so I am so grateful for the opportunity to do this music competition and sing while my dad is by my side."
