Glenn Hoddle reveals which Chelsea star has their mojo back thanks to Graham Potter trick

Glenn Hoddle has attributed Graham Potter with helping Mason Mount reclaim his mojo following Chelsea's rampant win over Wolves on Saturday. The 23-year-old played a crucial role in the Blues' 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, providing two assists; one for Kai Havertz and the other for Christian Pulisic.

Mount endured a rocky start to the season under Thomas Tuchel and failed to build any momentum. The midfielder played a key role in England success at the European Championships as Gareth Southgate's side went the distance, only to fall at the final hurdle to Italy in the Wembley final.

He, and his fellow international teammates, returned to Cobham training ground shortly after with little opportunity to rest, physically and mentally. Whether or not that was a factor in Mount's lacklustre displays early into the new campaign, his performances have slowly picked up since the arrival of Potter.

And, Hoddle has credited the former Brighton boss for rekindling the midfielder's form. Speaking to Optus Sport of Mount, the former Blues boss said: "Today [Saturday] he was excellent.

"He looked as if he’s had his mojo back again and that confidence. I think Graham had a real influence on that; had a one-to-one chat with him which looks like it has given him that confidence.

"He [Mount] is always going to give you everything. He’s back defending at times, and he’s got that little bit of everything. Today he was effective with the ball again."

Speaking to The Athletic, Mount insisted that the sheer number of Cobham graduates coming through the ranks under Potter is special. Following Chelsea's 3-0 win in the Champions League over AC Milan, he said: "I remember we had a Champions League game away (at Lille) and, when we were on the plane, just pinching ourselves that we were travelling to a Champions League away game because we’d come so far together.

"You still get it now but you get used to it a little more when you’re together for so long. It’s so special to see and every single year there are a few more coming through who’ve been on loan or from the academy who are stepping up and making their mark. That is amazing to see."
