Glenn Hoddle and Joe Cole agree about Tottenham after Wolves Premier League win

Tottenham have followed an impressive opening day win with two rather indifferent performances against Chelsea and Wolves. But Spurs have seven points on the board and are unbeaten so far, moving to the top of the Premier League table, albeit for a matter of hours, with that 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.

Head coach Antonio Conte made a point of bringing up the results against the same sides last season during his post-match press conference. He said: "This type of game last season we weren't prepared to find this type of difficulty. We lost these games. We lost at home to Southampton, Chelsea and Wolves and I was really worried when I saw these first three games! To get seven points shows this team is improving and we want to continue to improve."

And Tottenham not playing at their best and being unbeaten is a good sign. That's according to Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle anyway, who believes there is plenty more to come from Conte's side.

Speaking during BT Sport's coverage of the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Hoddle said: "The amazing difference for me, last week against Chelsea they should’ve lost the game but didn’t. Today, we weren’t at our very best but we improved but there is a long way to go. We’re playing a little bit indifferent, there’s a lot more to come from this team I’m telling you now and they’re top of the league - that’s a great sign for Tottenham and Tottenham fans."

Hoddle was not the only one to feel that way about things for Spurs. Joe Cole was also part of the BT Sport panel and although he took a swipe at Spurs at the very start of the coverage, he also believes there are things to be positive about in N17.

He said: " One thing I’ve seen in this team that I’ve not seen for many many years in this side is some resilience. They’ve gone to Stamford Bridge and got a point, they’ve not played well, the natives were a bit restless, they’ve changed it around and second-half got on the front-foot.

" He (Harry Kane) will want to win something and he does have the squad now. I can feel that there’s a different atmosphere, they’re set up and geared up to win and we know what Antonio Conte can do because he did it at Chelsea. He’s making players better - [Ryan] Sessegnon, [Ben] Davies, [Eric] Dier it’s the sign of a good coach. I think it’s very positive for Tottenham."
