Glenn Close will miss presenting at the Oscars after she tested positive for Covid-19.
The iconic Hollywood star was due to appear at the prestigious awards ceremony on Sunday, March, 12, alongside stars including 1923's Harrison Ford, Eva Longoria and The Last Of Us actor Pedro Pascal.
Glenn, 75, was among a star-studded list of guest stars who will be handing over awards to their winners on the night with Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose, Danai Gurira, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicole Kidman, and Janelle Monáe, all also joining the awards presenting roll call.
The actress will now miss the bash entirely as she isolates and rests, with her representative confirming the news.
While Glenn has been nominated for an Oscar herself an impressive eight times, she has never managed to take one of the coveted trophies home for herself.
In fact, she holds the record for the most nominations in an acting category without ever winning – alongside Peter O'Toole.
She was most recently given a nomination in 2021 for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the thought-provoking true story inspired drama Hillbilly Elegy.
This year's ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California with movie fans thrilled to see the outcome of the grand finale of awards season play out.
Nominations this year see Austin Butler given a nomination for his role as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann's stunning biopic Elvis, with Brendan Fraser recognised for his work as an obese English teacher in The Whale, Irish actors Colin Farrell and Paul Mescal are also storming the Best Actor category for The Banshees Of Inisherin and Aftersun.
In the Best Actress category Cate Blanchett is named for Tár, with Ana de Armas for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, Michelle Williams for The Fabelmans, Michelle Yeoh for everything Everywhere All at Once, and Andrea Riseborough for low-budget indie offering To Leslie all lining up for a potential win.
Meanwhile, Best Picture will see box office smash Top Gun: Maverick go up against Elvis, as well as Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin, war epic All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar: The Way of Water, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fabelmans, Tár, Triangle of Sadness and Women Talking.
The glamorous Hollywood bash will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel this year.
