A statement sofa is quickly becoming one of our favorite ways to experiment with bold design, especially as spring inches closer and we can incorporate seasonally appropriate patterns into the home.
Glenn Close is leading the way with some design inspiration, as per a post shared on her Instagram page of her floral couch. The beige sofa is accented with pink flowers and purple grapes, adding some color to the white-painted space.
While florals and spring are synonymous, it turns out that opting for a flowery (or generally bold-patterned) couch is one of the top sofa trends for 2025. According to experts, floral and nature-inspired prints are an emerging trend for the year; beyond bouquets, incorporating floral-printed furniture into the home is a surefire way to brighten up a space – as demonstrated in Glenn's space.
'Floral and botanical motifs are making a grand comeback,' says interior trends expert Johanna Constantinou. 'From wallpapers to upholstery, large-scale botanical prints add a touch of nature and vibrancy to interiors. Pairing these prints with neutral tones ensures they remain the focal point without overwhelming the space.'
She continues, 'The key to incorporating bold botanical prints is balance—pairing them with neutral backgrounds and minimalist decor elements ensures they remain an accent rather than an overwhelming feature. You can also experiment with botanical-themed rugs and textured carpets, seamlessly integrating nature-inspired prints with functional design.'
We can see that the Fatal Attraction actress has opted for white paint on her brick wall, lightening the space and providing a clean, simple background for the floral room decor to take center stage.

Floral furniture also taps into another trend; on the heels of the latest Bridget Jones film, designers are encouraging us to experiment with the 'frazzled English woman' style in our homes.
'Instead of having coherent furniture, the frazzled English woman aesthetic is all about mismatching different prints and colors for an imperfect look,' says Rhiannon Masters, interior designer and Head of Brand at Piglet in Bed. 'Think velvet sofas and striped armchairs, with vintage additions such as slightly worn sideboards or bookshelves you find in your local antique store. Bridget Jones is a huge fan of clashing colors, as seen through the bright yellow kitchen walls decorated with vibrant green tiles in her new – yet equally eccentric – family home in Hampstead Heath.'
Although Glenn's walls are white, she still has some eclectic decor present alongside her statement sofa, including a large framed artwork hanging above it and a rock statue on her mantel nearby.
