Glenda Gilson doesn't miss early mornings with life as a 'busy mum'

Glenda Gilson says she doesn't miss the early mornings from working on TV, and that she is now busy "being a mum"

Glenda has given a glimpse into her life since leaving Virgin Media last year after 14 years. She appeared in Marks & Spencer on Grafton Street today in partnership with the Irish Heart Foundation and chatted to Dublin Live about the Her Heart Matters campaign, encouraging women to look after their cholesterol and heart health.

When asked if she misses her presenting days, which included eleven years hosting Xpose and a stint on Ireland AM, she revealed: "I'm not missing the early mornings, I have to say.

"Of course, I miss all of my colleagues who I worked with and the different gigs that go on and the different events that go on in Dublin. We'd be in the thick of that right now.

"But I'm getting enough. I'm dabbing my toe in with things like this today.

"I can live a bit of both worlds. With the two kids at home now, I'm busy being a mum."

Given the recent news that Laura Whitmore is leaving her role as host of Love Island, we asked Glenda if she would ever consider taking on the role.

She said: "I'm not going to say I wouldn't like that gig. Who wouldn't like to be inside the villa in the sunny climate getting hair and makeup, working on something that is just so hot right now.

"I'm not going in there looking for love! I already have that."
