Last season both Glen and Kilmacud lost out to Kilcoo in the club Championship. This weekend, the teams battle it out to see who will succeed the Down side as All-Ireland club champions.
Watty Graham’s ended the reign of Kilcoo with an impressive victory in the Ulster club final at the Athletic Grounds.
Malachy O’Rourke’s men then had enough in reserve to withstand everything that Moycullen threw at them in a tense All-Ireland semi-final earlier this month.
Kilmacud were denied by Kilcoo after Jerome Johnston’s extra-time winner in last season decider.
They’ve since added Galway star Shane Walsh to their squad and have seemed destined to return to the All-Ireland final even from the early stages of the Dublin Championship.
However, Crokes were workmanlike at best in their semi-final victory over Kerins O’Rahilly’s and Robbie Brennan will know his men will need to be at their brilliant best to defeat a highly-rated Glen side.
