Ever since the draws were made for the Ulster Club Championships back in June, the meeting of Glen and Kilcoo in the Senior Football Final was always a distinct possibility.
They’ve had a few bumps in the road to get to this point. Kilcoo were taken to penalties by Clonduff in the Down SFC quarter-final and to extra-time by Warrenpoint in the county final.
However, the defending champions returned to their very best form in their most recent outings, scoring double-digits wins over Ballybay and Enniskillen Gaels in the Ulster Club Championship.

Glen’s form in Ulster hasn’t been as impressive as their performances in Derry. Malachy O’Rourke’s side routed Slaughtneil 1-12 to 0-7 in the Derry final before defeating Errigal Ciaran and Cargin in Ulster.
Their five-point winning margin against the Antrim champions last time out was due to an injury-time penalty from full-forward Danny Tallon and the Maghera men will know they’ll need to be sharper this weekend if they are to wrestle the Seamus McFerran Cup from the grip of Kilcoo.
