Glen Kamara was missing from training as Giovanni van Bronckhorst steps up preparations for Saturday’s Old Firm showdown at Parkhead and speculation intensifies over a possible Ibrox departure for the Finnish International midfielder.
Kamara has been linked with a possible big money move to French Ligue 1 side Nice and it comes on a transfer deadline day where Football Scotland reports that the 26-year-old wasn’t involved as Van Bronckhorst put his players through their paces at the club’s training ground.
Hours earlier, the bargain buy from Dundee three years ago was said to be a £10million target for big-spending Nice. Kamara, though, has also been nursing a knee injury which kept him out of the squad for the Scottish Premiership win over Ross County at the weekend. He wasn’t involved either for the Premier Sports Cup win over Queen of the South, although many first team regulars were left out.
Kamara played in the Champions League playoff win over PSV Eindhoven in Holland but came off after 73 minutes. He has been a huge player for the Light Blues since joining from Dundee for a fee of around £50,000. He is contracted until 2025 but has frequently been linked with a move away.
