Glazer family sent takeover reminder in five moments missed from Manchester United vs Leeds

Heaton does his best Onana impression

With David de Gea no longer a Manchester United player and Dean Henderson continuing his rehabilitation from a thigh injury back at Carrington, Tom Heaton was the only senior goalkeeper out in Oslo.

The 37-year-old barely got a look in last season and is thought to want to leave in search of more regular football this summer, particularly given that a new first-choice shot-stopper will almost certainly come through the doors at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag has set his sights on Andre Onana, placing value on the 27-year-old's ability to excel with the ball at his feet.

Potentially in the hope of proving he can do similar, Heaton took the chance to come flying out of his area inside four minutes. Leeds lumped the ball forward after defending a corner and Georginio Rutter had somehow got in behind a high defensive line, only for Heaton to take the ball from his feet and lay the ball to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

A good piece of work from the veteran.

Mount channels his inner Cantona

All eyes were on Mason Mount in Oslo as the £60million man made his first appearance in red, starting against Leeds and enjoying a solid 45 minutes. It came as a surprise for many to see the midfielder take the famous No.7 shirt last week, but yesterday's audacious effort was reminiscent of Eric Cantona's famous chip vs Sunderland.

The 24-year-old led a well-coordinated press on 11 minutes and dispossessed a lacklustre Jeremiah Mullen in the Leeds defence. A break on goal was on, but with Kristoffer Klaesson off his line, Mount attempted an extravagant chip from all of 30 yards - unfortunately, his effort clipped the top of the net, rather than dipping into it.

United's new home shirt doesn't have the collar to pop up anyway.

Friendly, you say?

Meetings between United and Leeds have rarely gone without a few rough challenges, but the opening friendly of a pre-season campaign might have been expected to be a bit more docile.

Well if that was the case, then Hannibal Mejbri clearly didn't get the memo. The young midfielder started the game and spent the opening 45 minutes getting well and truly stuck in, covering every blade of grass at the Ullevaal Stadion and making a few strong challenges.

His battling energy forced the referee to brandish a yellow card - a rare occurrence in a pre-season game - around midway through the opening half after a coming together with Leeds' Darko Gyabi.

James not making friends during reunion

United fans may have been surprised to see Dan James turn out for Leeds during the second half, with the winger being shipped out on loan to Fulham last season while his parent club were relegated. But Daniel Farke looks to have a place for pace in his team's Championship promotion push and brought the Welshman along for the friendly.

James spent two full seasons at Old Trafford but was not returning to continue old friendships on Wednesday, and made that clear when he clattered into Brandon Williams with 20 minutes left. The Reds full-back had burst forward down the left but upon trying to cut back was wiped out by his former teammate. So much for old friends.

Glazer protests continue

It should come as no surprise that United supporters are still sick of the prolonged takeover process, with little palpable progress being made in the eight months since the Glazers announced plans to 'explore strategic alternatives' for investment. Protests were audible at Old Trafford all season and those voices made their way to Oslo for pre-season.

Pockets of Reds in the crowd could be heard chanting 'We want Glazers out' during the second half and those words are expected to follow the squad to Edinburgh and then the United States.
