Glaswegians have responded to the news that the city's longest established family-run restaurant has been sold to a pub chain.
The Ubiquitous Chip in Ashton Lane was bought by the Metropolitan Pub Company (MPC) after previously being in the hands of the Clydesdale since its opening in 1971.
MPC is the owner of the UK's biggest pub chain Greene King, with the deal also including Stravaigin and Hanoi Bike Shop.

The announcement sent shockwaves through Glasgow's food scene, with many Glasgow Live readers expressing their dismay at the news.
In response to the news, Leighann Armstrong said: "Oh no! That was such a lovely place, the other places this company have bought they ripped the goodness out of!"
Morris Stuart added: "Will be shut in a year. Their reputation was their selling point."
Some shared their fondness for the restaurant, with many saying it was their favourite venue in Glasgow.
Walter Fleming said: "What a total shame, it was totally unique and a fabulous place."
David Beckett added: "They say change is inevitable, but I can't say I welcome this news with any enthusiasm. This has been my favourite restaurant since 1976."
Marie McDonald also said: "This is really bad news… I've been going to it since it opened in the 70s. it’ll be ruined."
Some hoped that the new owners would ensure that the Ubiquitous Chip maintained its current style and menu.
Cheryl Cole Castellani said: "Oh no! I hope they keep it the same! Every time I travel from Canada it’s one of my go-tos"
Maggie Allen also said: "It's always been my favourite Glasgow restaurant since it first opened - hope it retains its style."
Meanwhile, Pam Watson added: "As long as they have a good menu for the Chip as they cannot put their other menu on as it’s not suitable for the venue."
