Thanks to the success of shows like Outlander and actors and comedians like Billy Connolly, Ewan McGregor and Karen Gillan, the Scottish accent is more popular than ever. In fact, it regularly tops charts of the sexiest accents around.
A poll by the dating app Match, which aimed to find the UK's sexiest accent, found that the way we speak when we meet people for the first time can be a make-or-break quality when it comes to relationships.
In fact, 1 in 5 of the singles asked found it to be that important, so with that in mind, Match, which has installed a voice-note feature on the app, asked thousands of singletons which accent they found to be the sexiest in the UK.
And perhaps surprisingly, only one Scottish regional accent made it into the top 10. The Glaswegian accent was named 7th in the top 10 list.

Dating expert Hayley Quinn, also from Match, added: "When it comes to attraction, your voice can be your superpower in creating the spark.
“Yes, to succeed at online dating you need great pictures and a well-written profile, but incorporating your voice gives you the chance to stand out to potential dates and to create trust.
“You can short circuit first date awkwardness by communicating who you are using voice notes.”
